The museum

The museum was founded on 23rd August 2021, with the aim of making the signs of the rural and artisan past of the Amiatina Mountains accessible. It is housed in a building in the historic centre of Arcidosso. The exhibition is spread over six rooms and includes objects referring to a period of time ranging from the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s, objects commonly used in everyday life and tools from old crafts, images and captions that tell the life and traditions of our mountain. The museum is private and belongs to the non-profit Cultural Association “Storie d’Amiata APS”, registered with the Grosseto Revenue Agency on 8/11/2021, which manages it. The name bears the nicknames of the two family ancestors who left us the greatest number of exhibits.
